Faculty Collaboration

Let's Work Together

Teaching Faculty play an important role in helping students recognize their strengths, explore possibilities, build experience, and connect their education to life after Earlham.

The Center for Career Education can partner with you along the way, whether you are referring one student, planning a class session, advising around an Epic Experience, or looking for career-related resources.

Need to Refer a Student?

Career Coaches work with students from all majors, class years, backgrounds, and career interests and meet with students about:

  • Career exploration and decision-making
  • Resumes, cover letters, and applications
  • Internship and job searches
  • Interview preparation
  • Graduate and professional school
  • Networking and alumni connections
  • Independent Epic Experience planning

Students can schedule an appointment with a Career Coach through Handshake. Send them these instructions to get started: Coaching Appointment Instructions.

Bring Career Education Into Your Course

The CCE partners with faculty to connect academic learning with career exploration, professional skills, and life after Earlham. We can collaborate on a one-time class visit, workshop, assignment, resource, or a deeper curricular partnership. Reach out to Corey Kundert, Director of Career Education to start a conversation!

Epic Experience Advising

  • What is Epic Experience?

An Epic Experience is a funded experiential learning opportunity that helps students connect their Earlham education with career exploration and development. Eligible students can receive up to $5,000 to support one approved experience before graduation, such as an internship, micro-internship, field experience, practicum, training, course, or certification. Students are responsible for identifying and securing the experience, and the Center for Career Education supports them with eligibility, planning, application, and funding requirements.

  • How do I determine what students are eligible to apply?

For most students, Epic 171: Professional Foundations is the standard eligibility pathway for an Independent Epic Experience. Epic 171 is a online, 1-credit course offered through the CCE every seven weeks during the academic year. Students can register through open enrollment periods. Reference the Advising Guide for Epic Experience Eligibility for more details and instructions.

  • How do students apply?

Once a student has completed their eligibility requirement, they should meet with a Career Coach to discuss plans and access the application.
